We had a wonderful time here. We were looking for a quiet place to spend a last day in Italy after a long trip, before heading back to the States from the Rome airport. Locanda Vinorosso fit the bill perfectly. The family is warm and helpful, the food homemade, the room charming. We had two balconies and could watch the sun set and the moon rise there.
This spot is so deeply in the Tuscian countryside that we felt rested and restored. We could hear doves and smell the early autumn fires on some local farms. It's down a long country road, and we took a walk and watched twilight come on. We lived in Viterbo for a few years and could see it in the distance. We will recommend it to friends there as a place for a swim and dinner.
The hosts have two young well-behaved boys (17 months and about five at our visit), and there are many toys available for children and lots of room to run and play and still have a quiet atmosphere for adults. We were there too late in the season to use the pool, but what an oasis this would be on a hot day, with its many trees.
On arrival we were greeted with glasses of water and wine and had a light supper and big breakfast there. It was an easy one hour drive to Fiumincino airport after breakfast. It was a wonderful stop from start to finish.
