My immediately thought after entering the hotel was - zen, Japan, relaxation and peace. I had a lovely stay as a solo traveler here for 4 nights. The room blew me away, it was so stylish, well-decorated and practically furnished - with an amazing view from both the bed and balcony. Nothing can be compared to waking up and seeing the beautiful view of the tops of Yangshuo. The peace was sometimes destroyed by some farm animals just outside the hotel, but that was just charming, and bring some earplugs if the chickens annoy you.
Ask for a room in the top floor - and ask for one that is situated to the right when facing the area view from the bed and balcony will be best.
The staff had really good English skills and were really helpful. They picked me up from the pier and even drove me around to buy a sim-card.
The location is away from the hustle and bustle in the Yangshuo center - please don’t stay there, you will go nuts after 5 minutes. The crowd and the shops and the bars are REALLY loud. The hotel is a 20minute walk from the center, and you walk along the river - it’s a perfect walk. Or you can rent a bike.
My only concern for Yangshuo and the area were the hotel lays is the the increase of building sites and the future destruction of the peaceful areas that Yangshuo has to offer. I saw so many building sites all around Yangshuo, and I assume they will keep on growing. I hope that the area around Bamboo Leaf will not be destroyed in the future.
