Overall nice place to stay on a budget
We've stayed here with 2 kids for 4 nights. All-in-all an ok hotel located right next to the beach. This hotel is in my opinion spot-on for backpackers. First for the price, secondly for the vibe. If you like laid-back, non-pretentious accommodation, then this is the place to stay. There are several restaurants along side the hotel where you can get a nice meal and some beers.
Our room was on the 2nd floor just behind the reception and dining area. The room was large enough for a family of 4 with 2 beds setup (actually 3, where 2 was side by side). It had air condition, a small desk and a closet, but no tv.
This is no high-end luxury establishment. So do expect a simple breakfast (toast, egg, ham fruits and coffee) which is included for the price. Do pick up your cookie crumbs, or you'll have ants crawling all over the floor. Water from the shower and tap may loose pressure during the day, and the wifi is... it's there but your mail may reach its destination if you just send it with a mailman.
Oh, by the way, El Nido is busy developing it's tourist accommodation. Constructions are on-going in the area. I was told there was a road/path to the hotel that was closed. So from the main road, there's 72 steps of cemented stairs then some 200 - 300 meters of nice sandy beach, before you reach the hotel. It's a workout if you forgot some cash for the ride to El Nido town (which is some 10 - 15 min tricycle ride).
Will I stay here again? Sure! Will I recommend it? Not with kids.
