I am currently a guest 11/10/2024 at the Doubletree Hotel at 6300 Carnegie Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28211 and found myself with mixed feelings. Aesthetically, this hotel is absolutely beautiful, with elegant decor that makes you feel like you've arrived somewhere special. However, my actual experience staying here was far from restful.
At nearly $500 for a one-night stay in a two-bedroom suite, I had high hopes for a peaceful, comfortable evening. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. The building, though charming, is older and has settled over time, which has led to some structural issues. I could hear every step taken by the guests above me, and they happened to be up all night, pacing around. If you’re a light sleeper or value quiet, this can be quite unsettling.
I also encountered issues with the doors in our suite. The bathroom door, for instance, would stick, making it difficult for my daughter to open it after using the restroom. Meanwhile, it wouldn’t close properly at other times. I contacted the front desk, and the attendant kindly offered to investigate, though I felt the problem was more foundational, likely due to the building’s age.
This hotel might be perfect if you’re planning to be out late, enjoying the nightlife and only need a place to crash for a few hours.
