We booked very close to arrival, so within our budget, everything was expensive. We settled on this for 100£ a night. And it was NOT worth it.
The elevator did not work, and taking the stairs was a maze. They were also narrow, so hauling luggage up the stairs was a nightmare.
Our first receptionist were ok, but the others we encountered used their time either chatting to a friend by the enterance, or videochatting in the lobby.
The rooms did NOT look like the pictures at all. The flooring was ruined, with cracks and bits of the flooring loose/gone. It smelled strongly of chlorine upon arrival. In the bathroom, a dead bug just hung on the wall. The walls were paper thin, and we heard everything from the hallway/other rooms. No airconditioning, so we had to have the door to the "balcony" (barely fitting a single person standing up) open. It was also questionably cleaned..
The hotel is right beside several restaurants serving alcohol, so having to have the balcony door open at night made sleeping hard with all the traffic and drunk yelling.
When we got room service, they put the wc-soap in the bowl, but just left it there. So when we came back, it had dried up. In other words: not a good cleaning.
The only redeeming qualities is the location, close to Paddington Station and Hyde Park, which was nice. And the fact that there (surprisingly) was no bed-bugs.
TDLR; not like the pictures, very run down. Do not stay here.
