There is a bit of a walk up to the hotel. But not at problem for people of good health.
Barcelona city and airport was easillly accessible through the R2 commuter train line that's about a ten min walk from the hotel. Buy a t-10 ticket and reuse for ten journeys, that's 2,5 times back and forth if you are two for 10 euros. Taxi one way is about 45euro.
Grand Jaime is a quite nice hotel, we found most of the employees polite and helpful. Free hotel taxi service to the beach/casteldefes city was neat. You would do well to learn the essential Spanish, but we managed with just English alswell.
The Restaurant at the hotel had a great beef steak. The pool area is really nice. The view is good as it's in the hillside looking out over the ocean and city.
We didn't try the breakfast, it was not included. The inside pool, and fitness room was ok. A bit to hot for my liking.
The room on the other hand. We think we might have been unlucky. Room 457 was smelly, had a carpet floor that should really be changed, it was so noisy we had to get earplugs to sleep well and the lack of isolation resulted in no real feeling of privacy.
Otherwise the look and feel of the room was quite good. Had the smelly air condition, they claimed it was that but I doubt it, the carpet and the sound isolation been improved it would have been a really pleasant stay.
Oh, and the internet is not in the rooms, just in the common areas. Which is OK but I would have preferred to have the option.
