Amazing location
The Beach is beautifully set on the beach in Tulum. When we first arrived, it felt like we had found a piece of paradise! The rooms are large and decorated in a minimalistic, eco-chic style, I especially appreciated the hammocks on the terrace. We had a room on the ground floor with direct access to the beach, which was perfect. Sadly the rest of the experience wasn't just as perfect. The A/C is only turned on from 7 pm - 7 am, and it hardly works during this time. Most of the guests we talked to ended up sleeping with the terrace doors open. As a result, due to the high humidity level in July, everything (clothes, bed linen) was a bit moist. And it would have been nice to have a minibar so you could get something cold to drink... The sercvice level was also varied. The staff at the front desk and beach are very accomodating and nice, one even stopping by off-duty to say hello when we met at a restaurant. The service level at the hotel's restaurant, Ziggy Bar, is varied at best. They appear to be more focused on reminding you that tip is not included on the bill than actually renedering you any service. At the time we visited, there was no wifi in the rooms, but it looked like that was about to be installed. If the A/C were fixed I would be happy to return to this hotel.
