Have to say that this type of hotel is not exactly our first choise. Mostly due to the unpersonal vibe and service, and the grandiousity and un-homely feel of the hotel. The over all feel is cold and unpersonal, but this might be a question of taste. This said the view from our room was AMAZING, the bed really comfortable and the staff was helpful though distant. The rooftop pool was really nice! You have the sun all day. Due to lack of sun during our weeks in Thailand we enjoyed many hours by the pool when finally it showed itself. We were able to go back up to the pool after check out, though at first it seemed like the staff thought it weird. Again the distant vibe. I don’t really understand what makes the staff so distant, perhaps the work environment isn’t that good. Anyways I think the staff is a really important part in how I find staying at a hotel. The hotel also has indoor pools and saunas. This is awesome, though we didn’t get to use it alot. You should know that the indoor pools/saunas are women/men seperated. The hotel also dosn’t have a bar or serve alcohol. We didn’t know this but it didn’t bother us, which it shouldn’t eighter, but it’s better to know when booking so expetions are right. We we’re a bit let down because hotels.com promised us free minibar and welcome drinks due to my gold reward membership. This felt like a trick since there were no minibar and we didn’t get welkome drinks eighter, alkohol or not. That didnt bother us, but still.
