I knew before I booked this hotel that it is undergoing renovations, but I should have paid more attention to the reviews. On a good note, the front desk staff were very nice trying to accommodate my request for a room close to the elevator since my traveling companion had a walker. Due to renovations, the number of rooms was limited and we still had to walk a bit down the hall from the elevator.
We were given a room with a full kitchen that has been renovated but it came only with towels, 2 bars of soap, and a partial tissue box. To be fair, when I checked in, they did tell me that the kitchen was not equipped and to ask for what I needed. I had to ask for a remote for the TV, bedding for the sofa bed, tissues, utensils, and plates. They did not have any paper towels.
I was not impressed with the newly renovated room for the following reasons:
- there were no chairs in the kitchen/dining area
- the sofa bed was strictly a sofa where one person could sleep (I was expecting a pull-out couch)
- the lighting was terrible – all rooms had few lights and were very dark
- the bath towels were small
- there was no TV in the living room (just in the bedroom)
Also, the luggage cart was very difficult to maneuver, and the free breakfast was just granola bars and coffee (there were muffins but only one was left).
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was very clean.
Perhaps this will be a nice place when the renovations are done, but I do not recommend it now.
