We decided to splurge on a stay at The Viv in Anaheim for Valentine’s weekend unfortunately, it fell short in several areas.
Prior to our stay, we attempted to make a reservation at one of the hotel’s restaurants. When I called to get some information about the dining options, the woman on the phone was extremely rude and unwilling to provide details on the type of food offered. Instead of answering a simple question, she insisted on transferring me to the restaurant, which I was never able to reach.
Upon arrival, we opted for valet parking, but there was no valet in sight. Additionally, the hotel advertises bell service, yet no Bellman was available. We ended up carrying our own luggage, which isn’t a problem—but don’t offer a service if you’re not going to staff it properly. Once we finally got a valet, he was pleasant and professional, but the delay was frustrating.
To top it off, the person at the front desk was not pleasant at all. A warm welcome sets the tone for a stay, and unfortunately, that was missing here. Instead of feeling valued as guests, we felt like an inconvenience.
On a positive note, the room was extremely clean, which we appreciated. Also, the bar on the bottom floor was great—good drinks and a nice atmosphere.
However, overall, the hotel experience just didn’t match the price. For the amount of money we spent on the room, it simply fell short. Hopefully, management makes improvements, but we likely woul
