We loved everything about staying at The Square Hotel. The room and property were exceptionally clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout. We were very surprised to find out that the lounge for the guest was completely included in the price of the room. This included beer, wine, and snacks from 2:00 PM until 10:00 PM...unlimited as long as you wanted to stay...or come and go. The location was ideal, right in the heart of much of what was going on in Copenhagen. The value for the money was exceptional.

Great hotel easy walk to Tivoli and Copenhagen H. Only gripe that kept me from giving it 5 stars was their housekeeping policies. If you don’t tell them by 10 pm the night prior, housekeeping skips your room. I realized that too late on my second night, so they didn’t refresh any of the coffee/tea supplies, nor remove any used ones. I had asked a housekeeper next door to my room if she could just swap towels and supplies, no need for full cleaning, which she said was fine. When I got back in the evening my two days of cups and glasses were still sitting, and I ran out of coffee, sugar and creamer. I also had to call twice, an hour apart, to ask for a room fan as it was too warm to sleep, which they finally delivered while I was out. Maybe a fluke, so would stay again. Breakfast, bar, and amenities were great.

I choose The Square base on the fact that it was newly refurbished so I had high expectations. It was substantially more expensive compared to other hotels of the same rating. The room was clean but the grouting in the shower was not. We have booked an executive king room however we were given a room with the view of a brick wall & 5 chimneys. The next day we queried whether if they had place us in the correct room. I expressed my disappointment. After that we were moved to the 5th floor with street view. The room was clean but we didn't sleep well due to the light coming through the top of the cutains. It defies the purpose of having blackout curtains. Eye masks and ear plugs were provided in the room. The Square is meant to be an eco- friendly hotel. It would make more sense if they just fixed the curtains instead. Breakfast was substantial however I witnessed a young toddler smearing his saliva all over the plates. The parents just let the child run amok and the other guests were none the wiser. Despite these minor issues all the staff were friendly and welcoming..
