10/10 – Enestående
30. juli 2014
Really really wonderful!
We're a family of 4 (kids 8 and 11), stayed there for three nights a few days ago (July 2014)
We came across the place due to it price, very competitive.
It was wonderful, very friendly staff, English was easily spoken and understood.
Huge rooms, really huge.. All clean and tidy.
Large living room with a couch that turns into big bed for the kids. The living room has a normal flat-sized kitchen with fridge and cooking plates (even a small dishwasher). hallway with small toilet. Upstairs: BIG bathroom (stand alone shower and bathtub also dual sinks). Large bedroom with a big bed.
There was no Aircondition, but there was a fan and big curtains to keep the sunshine out, so not a problem for us (we had temp around 20-30c). Make sure to cover up windows and leave upstairs windows open and fan running before you leave in the morning. Big balcony, overlooking the bigger garden..
Food was Excellent.
We tried the bistro (no dress code), had several drinks and a bottle of the house wine (nice!) ate what we wanted. A full Dinner with desert and drinks for 4 here is around 150-200€. So not cheap, but really really good. I believe that sitting outside in the cozy courtyard (-turned garden) with a large fountain and lush surroundings having excellent food and great local food/beer, it was well worth the price.
If you want to eat at the local Resturant; plan it, get a reservation as soon as possible. We never did get a table, lot's of local business. Dress nice.
Breakfast was not included in the price, this was really perhaps the only thing that should have been highlighted a bit more, as I really didn't find out until we payed the bill. And breakfast was not cheap..
We could have easily bought some food off the local supermarket and had breakfast on our balcony, that would have shaven off 90€ (29,5€ adult and 15€ child) pr day (!) for the four of us. That said.. It was Excellent with staff hovering around to cater to whatever needs we had. They served all the stuff you would expect pluss some more.
The property is huge, and you could easily spend a few hours walking around, tasting the plentiful fruit-trees and admiring the well-pruned gardens.
The pool was a winner. Big nice and just the right temp.
The surrounding village is very picturesque. Not at all like What you expect to find in Holland. Looks like a small alpine village, hilly and complete with the must-have ruined castle/Borg, and underlaying mines. Small roads and possible parking issues we rented 50cc scooters from the hotel (two pr bike, no helmet required 35-40km/h top speed), and spent a full day just cruising around, parking wherever.
All in all, the best place we stayed at on our 2-3 week Trans-Europe holiday. Expect friendly helpful staff, great eating, and excellent surroundings.
Warning.. You will spend more than you plan. We stayed a day more than ordered, and it did not seem like this was unheard of.
A great place! Highly recommended.
