Before I came, people told me that this hotel is one of the best hotels in Iceland. I seriously have no idea what they are talking about. To get down to brass: Small hotel, close to city centre (takes about 5 minutes to walk to main street). Everything looks like it's from 1970. Red carpets, wood, paintings etc. When you enter, a small reception and a chesterfield style sofa group awaits you. The room keys are keys (yes, those old normal keys). The smallest elevator in the world takes you to the right floor. Carpets all around. The room, very small. A bed, a small desk, and a TV. Bathroom, so small you need to plan how you enter. Everything seemed to be very clean, so kudos to house cleaning staff. Empty minibar. No iron. No information in the room about services, food, drinks or anything... I had to call the reception and ask how to get a bottle of water. The service in the reception is very good. But, when paying 12.000.- NOK ($ 1.400) for 3 nights, there are many other hotels in Iceland that provides tons of more service, facilities, space etc. than this hotel. The reason I give it a bad overall rating, is the price. For more than 450$ a night, I expect MUCH more than this. If the price was 100$ a night, I would give it top score, but the price dosen't match the drapes.
