Late check-in; 1030pm. Feeling tired and jaded after a long day. Greeted with a smile by the receptionist, checked in within 3 minutes. Lovely. Room was spacious and clean. Somewhat dated, but in the classic style, not grotty style. Dinner at the restaurant Damier was exquisite, can certainly recommend the sole meuniere. Breakfast was simple but good. I didn't try the hot food (realised too late that they cook to order. Oh, well, something to remember for next time :-)) My bed was super comfy, and the sheets were glorious quality - satin cotton with a very healthy thread count. I've learnt over the years that I'm not the right person to pronounce on city/hotel noisiness, because as soon as my head hits the pillow I'm out. But I didn't notice any particular street noise, other than the town clock ringing the hour. And that stops at 9 or 10pm. Negatives? The lifts are old school, and it can be a bit of a squeeze if there's more than a couple of people in them. The tablet that had info about the hotel and Kortrijk city wasn't working fully, so pages didn't load fully. Would I stay here again? Yes, definitely.
