This hotel is terrible! We booked one week, but left after three sleepless nights, as nothing really had met our expectations. The single aim of this resort is to press as much money out of their guests as possible, giving nothing in return.
They call it annex building - also known as Gregorie's apartment. What it really means, is a shabby guest house, way outside of the hotel's premisses, right by the side of the island's busiest road, above a noisy supermarket and pizzeria. There is no rest, no quiet moment here, just traffic noise and a view of the resort' s fence.
Island Lodge has a pretty bungalow foto as a bait for the average price of a 3 star hotel. Here is what you get for your money if they accomodate you at Gregoire's apartment:
No facilities as advertised, as it is located outside.
Entrance via the backside of the pizzeria, just beyond the dishwasher-room and cleaning trolley / dirty mop parking plot.
Stuck in the eighties concerning all technical appliances, toiletteries and decoration.
The kettle is a potential fire hazard, leaking badly, it' s melting plastic handle is untouchable.
The fridge is so noisy, it has to be shut down overnight.
No tv signal.
No complementary water in the room.
We found a long-dead gekko in a corner, where the cleaning obviously never reaches.
Mouldy bathroom. Smells and looks awful.
Above all, rude and dishonest staff, especially Gerard at the reception. No refund but It was a true pleasure to leave this hotel.
