The hotel is perfectly located, close to the S-bahn exit, in near vicinity of the Marienplatz, but not that close that you see the masses strolling around regardless if you want it or not. If you are the kind who likes automatic check-in/out into unmanned modern facilities stay away from this pearl of the city. Here a very friendly but not intrusive staff helps make your stay overly enjoyable, the coffee is served in a porcelain jug and the tasty food is prepared also upon request if you desire it. The rooms are just the right size, the beds are very comfortable and the hotel has this vibe that you back stepped into an alternate reality, sometime into the days of the Belle Époque. As mentioned the staff is very friendly, helpful and we even got a late checkout without extra fees. And the cherry on the cake: the hole in the ceiling (as per 2023 august) is always a very good conversation starter, you can learn a lot about the building and how stuff works. Last, but not least: the hotel is more than 500 years old, don't let the museum in the wall get you unprepared.
