I hate to write a bad review publicly and tried to take my issues up with management multiple times, but I was ignored both in person and over multiple email threads, so here we are. Staying here was a disaster from the moment we checked in. It took the front desk over an hour to find our reservation and upon checking in to our room, we found the beds and floor covered with dirt and dust. My friend killed 3 bugs in the first hour we were there. The hot water in our room didn't work so we were stuck taking cold showers, at a place that charged us over $200 a night. We ate at the hotel restaurant which had flies around the buffet food and looked very unhygienic. Then we were served lattes with expired milk (it looked like chunky yogurt). Not sure what sort of hotel can claim to be 5 stars with this many issues.
The hotel is truly in the middle of nowhere so you can't walk to stores, an ATM, etc and they have an arrangement with the local cab drivers where the cabs have to pay the hotel a hefty kickback of what they earn (um....how is this legal?) so it will cost you a minimum of 3500 rupees to leave the property. The cab drivers explained this to us and I felt bad - someone needs to call out management on this terrible arrangement.
I tried to take this up with the manager, Ganesh, who assured me we could have a refund if we left. However, he has ignored my emails and not given us a refund for the 3 nights we didn't stay there. Please, please, don't waste your time here.
