There are many reasons why you should not stay at GUTI Resort: 1). We arrived at this hotel a few hours before check-in and was asked immediately to pay 1000 baht to get the room early (even though it was ready for us). This does not represent a 5-star hotel, and the people in the "reception" even laughed when they demanded the money. 2) NOBODY SPEAK ENGLISH, and they didn´t understand us, so we had to contact hotels.com to get them to translate our complaint about the third problem. 3) The very disturbing sound from the pool pump right outside the door from the bed. We even tried using ear-plugs, but we still heard the sound. When we asked them about it they said that they could turn off the pump at night, but then we couldn't use the pool. 4) A frog in the room (I know it is Thailand, but in a 5-star resort?) 5) When we went to eat breakfast they were out of everything, and the people who worked there didn't understand what we asked 6) We told hotels.com and the management at the hotel that we didn't want to stay there and when hotels.com tried to get a refund (even just for one night, they refused). The hotel is clearly not going well, and there were hardly any people there. They didnt even refund our early check-in fee.7) The location is not that great, but if the resort would have better it would not have mattered. 8) When we asked the reception to order us a taxi a person from the hotel turned up and said he would drive us for 400 bht, twice the about it really costs.
