we came to Amsterdam from Norway, thursday 21st. We were looking forward to coming to your hotel, but to our surprise was met with staff that was not welcoming and a hotelroom that was just horrible.
See pictures attatched for reference to the following statements. The first thing we saw was some of the worst cleaning that I’ve seen when entering a hotel room. The floor was dirty, it was tons of crumbs under the bed, the ceiling vents were filled dust and other nasty particles, the walls were covered in filth, mirrors were dirty, the door was full of mold.
Worst of all, there was no window in the room. According to the laws of netherlands, you are not allowed to rent out any rooms whitout a fire-escape or window. These standards were not met whatsoever. We knew that the room was without a view, but not without a window.
The whole situation ended in us checking out of the hotel one hour after we checked in. We booked a new hotel at the Quintin Zoo Hotel and the difference was like night and day. When we were climbing down the hotel stairs, we were met with a very angry handyman and cleaner. They yelled at us and told us that we were in the wrong. When you look at the pictures i would say we were in fact not in the wrong on this one.
We demand a refund. This made our start of the trip horrible and we had to book a hotel at a much higher cost than it would’ve been if we booked it from the get go.
If we do not get a full refund, I will report this to Hotels.com and info
