The apartment hotel is a great concept and it really is an excellent property on a very good location (mind you, the apartments are located a couple of blocks down from the hotel itself, i.e. even closer to downtown Reykjavik). Staff is very friendly and helpful and the apartment had the extra amenities that make any stay more comfortable, such as a dishwasher and instant coffee. Our only gripe was that the bathtub plug device was broken (no doubt by previous guests) and couldn't be fixed while we were there, despite all good efforts from the staff. Also, the excellent central location may also be a curse (although no fault of Odinsve): From around 1 to 2AM on weekends, and lasting until about 5AM, central Reykjavik erupts into a party and techno music frenzy, with people taking to the streets and I would almost swear clubs turning on external loudspeakers. The Odinsve apartments are right in the middle of it, so you'd be well advised to sleep in the bedroom facing the backyard and, what is more, make sure to bring ear plugs. We knew Reykjavik and were well prepared for this, but others may not.
