8/10 – Veldig bra

Subdued luxury with a few quirks (and posers)
This brand new boutique hotel is located in a great area for those wishing to spend a lot of time in the trendy Ari area or want to have a short commute to the Chatuchak weekend market. However, we found it being way to far from everything else that we wanted to do in Bangkok, and the daily commute to the nearest BTS (15 minutes walk) soon became a chore. This will most likely improve when the new BTS station on Sena Ryan opens later this year, but still makes for a good 50 minutes journey to most other places of interest. On the other hand, this is a relatively quiet corner of Bangkok, ideal for those who have no desire to explore the city on a daily basis. The pool was nice, though a little frisky, but lacked sufficient beds for the guests, and only gets sunshine for a few hours (11-14) every day. In addition, the daily swarm of young girls coming to the poolside bar to take photos of themselves became a real nuissance. Sometimes every single table in the bar was occupied by posers looking for the perfect picture. Otherwise staff were friendly and accomodating enough, and there are plenty of decent dining options in the area, though a majority of the better ones were japanse, a bummer when you’ve come for thai food. We found the nightlife to be slightly lacking in options, except for the tiny speakeasy at the nearby Josh Hotel, which provided a cool atmosphere and delicious drinks.
