We stayed at the Bentley for a pre-Christmas family holiday.
Whilst the weather was at bit hit and miss, the hotel was lovely. We had a penthouse room overlooking the sea and I highly recommended it. We also had a standard room. This was good value but lost the lovely views.
For a heritage hotel, it was a pleasant surprise that the room was large and very modern. The terrace was enormous with fabulous sea views. The rooftop pool area is also very spacious with great views.
The hotel is well located at the start of the South Beach heritage area with a huge selection of restaurants on its doorstep. Probably the nicest section of gardens and beach is directly in front of the hotel.
The free tram service (The Trolley) goes up Washington from near by if you don’t want to walk to Lincoln Mall etc.
One tip, for a day trip, is to hire a car from Sixt on 5th. We rented one for an Everglades trip. Their car park is two blocks behind the hotel, so you can pick up early and drop back late for about $100 all in.
The staff were lovely and there are also a few freebies (breakfast snacks, coffee, sparkling wine) in reception at various times during the day.
The ground floor is being refurbished with a new restaurant/bar opening in the New Year
This is a heritage hotel. If you like that quirky vibe, in a fabulous location, but with modern rooms and nice staff it’s worth looking at it. .
