This hotel is well located in Hollywood, with easy access to the likes of downtown Hollywood, Paramount Studios, Universal Studios and the Hollywood Hills.
The exterior of the hotel is well presented, and certainly has a chic traditional feeling to it.
Parking was limited, but we managed to get a space on both occasions that we entered and exited the parking lot, with the help of a valet attendant. Tricky on the second night due to a large function at the property, but they managed to squeeze us in. Parking was reasonably priced given the location, at $16 per night.
The hotel lobby was well presented, although the receptionist weren't the most friendly or inviting. I can live with that, as I don't spend much time in the lobby, and they weren't directly rude as such.
Our room however, was a let down. The room was a long room, on the road side. Fairly noisy, but we still managed to sleep after our flight. It was dated, but we half expected that. It was clean enough, although the carpets could do with a good scrub. Bed and bedding were fine, again, nothing to shout home about. The room felt rather dim in terms of lighting.
One thing I couldn't stand was the smell of cannabis. The room stunk of it! Even around the lobby smelled of cannabis, but our room was particulary bad for the two nights we stayed there. The bathroom also smelled of a combination of cannabis and chemicals or sorts. Even the Aircon couldn't help with the smell.
Overall I wouldn't rush to stay here again.
