An OK hotel in dark and scary city.
Hotel was OK enough. Rooms were OK, staff were nice, and there is a mediocre resturant with happy hour attached to the hotel. Negatives were very thin walls, so neighbors who are partying wake you up. In general you can say you are getting value for your money comoared with other hotels in the area. However, the area you are staying in doesn't have much.
I will not be back to this or any other hotel in the area, likely never to LA again. I can honestly say that I have never felt so unsafe in any other place in my life. And I have worked in places like Afghanistan, Kenya, Ethiopia, etc. The city is hard, full of somtimes dangerous mentally ill people who need to be taken care of by the health system, yet are living on the streets in tents. The inequality in LA is absolutely disturbing. The city is dirty and filled with garbage, and in general things are run down, unless you go to an oasis like Beverly Hills, but it seems all so fake when you know that a block away there are thousands of homeless people getting high. Moreover LA is extremely expensive compared to what you receive.
Thay being said, of you must go to LA, and if you must stay in the area, you could stay in the hotel and it will suit your needs.
