Stayed at Arion Hotel in April with a friend of mine and we both had a really good time. Dont be put off by the shabby-looking street the hotel is located in, or the shabby looking exterior of the hotel, because the location is perfect and close to all of the major attractions, as well as located right in the coziest part of all of Athens, the old town, with all its amazing restaurants and cute cafés. The area is perfect for anyone that look for that authentic side of a city, with lots of identity and personality in form of street art, markets, quirky shops, churches and historic sites. Everything is within walking distance. The hotel room was very nice and clean and the bed was comfortable and wifi worked very well. Our room didnt have a very nice view, but the view from the roof terrasse is amazing indeed. Breakfast buffet is simple, but good. Resting area in the lobby is very nice also. Service is good and the staff is very friendly. So this is indeed a great choice and good value for the cost. I would definitely recommend this hotel. BUT the door to the bathroom is a stained glass door that doesnt lock, so for anyone traveling with someone and who's in absolute need of privacy with a locked door to the bathroom, this isnt the place. I would gladly stay here again.
