It turns out the hotel was attached to a party area in the atrial area. The music finally subsided around two, but made it difficult to sleep before. We contacted both reception directly and hotels.com support. The hotels.com representative claimed to have contacted the reception and asked that I go down (in the middle of the night) to speak with reception, and that they would send an email with a recap of our communications to keep a communication channel open. Not only did noone at reception speak with hotels.com, but no confirmation email was actually sent.
The following day we were assured no more parties were taking place. They served pizzas at the hotel lobby, but upon requesting one for a late lunch we were told they only had few left and that preparing it would take a long time -- seeming really reluctant to serve us.
A mistake on our own part was not realising the shower and toilet in the hotel room was glassed in, instead of separated in a dedicated room. This was obvious from pictures of the room, so the mistake was admittedly on us. Naturally the sound insulation wasn't great, but worst was the drainage that was absent from the toilet, meaning that any water splashing over from the shower would flood the floor in the bathroom.
The hotel had a music/rocked theme which was neat and enjoyable. Housekeeping could be swapped with complimentary drinks at the bar which was a nice tweak. Breakfast was good, and drink selection quite decent.
Summed up, not great.
