When I first arrived it smelled kind of funny in the reception area, like old pee or something and there was an old chair right by the reception that looked peed on!! But the receptionist said it was an old hotel and therefore smelled old! With just a little paint in the room and a change of carpet in the hallway and the removal of the old chair and an old sofa in the hallway, the hotel could look sooo much nicer. There was no air condition, but the fan in the ceiling worked fine and was quiet. The pressure in the shower was actually good. The bed was high, but ok. The bed squeaked a lot, and if the people in the room above you moved around a lot in the room or in the bed you could hear it pretty good, but with ears plugs I slept fine. The cleaning I was unsure of, it was ok, but could be better. One of the towels was stepped on and had therefore a stain and the receptionist made it sound like it was hard to get a new one without the cleaning personnel there, but she managed. I think the day receptionist was kind of clueless and apologetic; witch was annoying, but otherwise nice. The placing of the hotel was in a good safe area, near an excellent Italian restaurant and near beautiful Rodeo Drive. The taxi home from Hollywood at night cost 30 $, tips included. The Wi-fi only worked in the receprion area but they had a huge tv in the room, as if thats where we would spent time?! Anyway; an ok hotel for such cheap pay.
