Tip: My room was on the ground floor near the pool, a staircase and ice machine. In hindsight, I should’ve requested to move to a room away from public spaces with high traffic.
PROS
The hotel and room was clearly older but had been updated cosmetically with newer appliances and amenities. Large TV, retro phone and mini fridge, digital alarm clock with USB charger and Bluetooth capabilities. Bed was comfortable with clean bedding. My room was equipped with a king bed, a night stand, a dresser, lounge chair with reading lamp, and a large desk with retro chair on casters.
CONS
The door to the room did not have a tight seal all the way around. The biggest gap being on the bottom of the door. Almost an inch which could potentially fit a hidden camera or some device to try to gain entry into the room. This allowed light, exhaust from the nearby parking lot, as well as noise from aforementioned high traffic area to flow in. I took a towel and tried to block some of that as best I could.
The bathroom, while in it, is roomy but the doorway is slimmer than standard. And the standing shower stall would be difficult for a larger/taller person. I’m 5’2” and it was hard to not elbow the walls while showering. The placement of the shower head was so high and was not adjustable to where the water was not hitting my face the whole time. Annoying but it’s fine I managed. There’s also no counter space so I couldn’t lay out beauty products and makeup. Inconvenient but fine.
