Comfortable bed and a good range of ameneties. When checking in there is a GBP20 fee which was not advised upon booking. If you pay by card (which you do if you are unaware to bring cash) there is a fee you do not get back. When leaving you will get the money back in cash which is quite annoying if you are about to leave the country.

Pro: Nice area to stay, public transit nearby, very cheap price, with basic breakfast and dinner (portion is small), common space is cozy and nice Cons: too noisy (party at 1am at the common area), people talking loudly, lack of 4-bed room for female traveller, 8 bed room is very crowded. If you have quiet and nice roommates, you will have happy time. If not, it can be a problem!

The beds were small but the place overall was good. Space wise was a tight fit, but area was lively and close to tube.

It was amazing. Great atmosphere and people. Perfect location, walkable to tube, restaurants and Sainsbury. Staff was very helpful and kind enough to give hostel tours to all guests. Liked it. Room was a bit small for 4x2 bunk beds. Lot of luggage in my room on the first floor so less room to move around I felt. Bed was comfy but ventilation was a problem until window was opened as there was no fan/aircon. Only one power outlet near the lower bed, no USB outlets. Personal lockable trunks under the beds for everyone. Unisex bathroom/toilets were always clean. Had a really good hot shower. Lounge area had a big tv and comfy seating. Dining area was well lit and spacious. Breakfast was good. Kitchen was well equipped. Outdoor area had a nice feel. Decor was beautiful. People were nice and friendly, had fun playing boards games. WiFi was super fast. Overall, a great stay. Will recommend and definitely come back!

I had a nice, one-night stay at St James Backpackers. Checking in and out was seemlessly simple, and the general atmosphere was very amiable. It was nice to have shelves in the walls on every bed, although for some reasons mine didn't. Due to the brief duration of my stay, I didn't mind this. My only actual gripe might be that the bed creaked a bit and perhaps wasn't entirely comfortable. This might be expected of a backpackers hostel, of course. I'd certainly consider staying here another time.

the hostel is ok. good with locker. not the cleanest but acceptable. water is not hot for shower. staff service is average. did not make the bed when I check in and need to ask for pillow case etc and do so on my own. don't expect anything for the free dinner. it's free but basically just pasta, with cheese, that's it. breakfast is basic but normal standard.
