Cyprus

What you need to know before you go

Cyprus enjoys year-round sunshine, which means your days will likely be spent outdoors on pristine beaches or up lush mountains. Diving enthusiasts should head to the south of Cyprus to check out the Larnaca’s many dive sites. Depending on where you go, you’ll find the wreck of a WWII-era gunboat, an artificial reef, or a sea cave – all of which are home to abundant marine life.

Cyprus is known as the birthplace of the Greek goddess Aphrodite, and there are plenty of historical sites dating back to the New Stone Age. Relive history by visiting the island’s many UNESCO-listed sites, Neolithic settlements, Greek temples, and Byzantine churches. For a bit of history mixed with romance, the 16th-century Limassol Castle and Aphrodite’s Rock are must-sees in Cyprus.
