Benidorm Island is a small nature reserve off the Mediterranean coast of Spain. You can get there by taking a boat from either the Old Town Port or Puerto Deportivo de Benidorm. The adventure begins as soon as you get onboard – most boats have a glass bottom, allowing you to see the seabed.

Once on the island, follow a well-signposted path that leads to its highest point, on which a lighthouse stands. You can even swim or snorkel in the cove's crystal-clear water.

Moors and Christians Fiesta is a unique Benidorm event that takes place in early October. During this period, locals dress up to commemorate the battles fought during Reconquista, when Christian kingdoms sought to recover lands that had been occupied by the Muslims.

The festival is by no means exclusive to Benidorm, as it's celebrated in towns and villages across the Levante region. For days, the streets are full of processions, marches accompanied by drums, masquerades, people in costume, and live music.

Tossal de la Cala is a hill to the southwest of Benidorm, between Poniente and Finestrat beaches. The 100-metre peak shields the beaches from strong wind. You can find an archaeological site, declared a Place of Cultural Interest, at which archaeologists discovered remains of an Ancient Roman settlement. You can also check out Ermita Virgen del Mar, a small hilltop chapel built in the 1400s.

Although you can reach Tossal de la Cala by car, we recommend walking to better enjoy the landscape. The spectacular views of Benidorm and the Mediterranean are worth the effort.
