- Historie
The Eastbourne War Memorial is a historical landmark at the heart of central Eastbourne. It's designed to commemorate all of those who served in both world wars. One unique thing about this memorial is that it was originally built to honour World War I veterans but has been added to for each subsequent conflict in which Great Britain has partaken. It's a wonderful way to honour those who have stood up to fight over the many decades since the early 20th century.

Tucked beneath the Helen Gardens at Holywell, the Italian Gardens are hidden and secluded. They're just steps away from Holywell beach and are carved from a chalk cliff face that was once an independent quarry.
They were turned into the gardens we know today in the early days of the 20th century. Today, this secret garden-style grotto is ideal for stealing away with that special someone to have a picnic lunch and some intimate time away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the world. Every July, the Italian Gardens hosts alfresco Shakespeare performances.
