Be sure to make a trip to Graceland, where you can visit Elvis Presley’s mansion and grave.

There are also plenty of family-friendly sites in and around Memphis, including a 4,500-acre park with cycling and horse trails, an open-air amphitheatre, and even a shopping mall shaped like a pyramid. Memphis juke joints

Drink and dance to classic blues in Memphis

    Memphis juke joints
    • Natteliv

Head to a juke joint for a classic night out in Memphis, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. Many of these venues offer live bands on weekends, while a jukebox plays classics for the rest of the time. There are several places in downtown Memphis to experience the juke joint life – must-visits include Wild Bill’s, the reputedly haunted Earnestine & Hazel’s, and Blues Hall.

It’s a good idea to bring cash to a Memphis juke joint – you’ll need a couple of coins to operate the jukebox, after all. Almost every juke joint serves only pub grub and beers, though some allow you to bring in hard liquor for a small fee.
