Popular among locals for walking, cycling, roller-skating, and skateboarding, the BeltLine combines green spaces and transportation with public art.

    The BeltLine is a major hot spot for some of Atlanta’s most talented artists to showcase their work along the trail. BeltLine wall murals can be found on the northeast part of the trail near Mason Fine Art and are typically updated once per year. The murals are free to access as part of the ongoing public arts exhibitions within the BeltLine.

    Atlanta’s Rainbow Crosswalks are composed of colorful stripes painted over all 4 crosswalks at the intersection of 10th and Piedmont in Midtown. The rainbow crosswalks are located near Piedmont Park and are free to access as part of Atlanta’s ongoing public art initiatives.

    These vibrantly colored stripes were first installed as a temporary art exhibition in 2015 for the city’s annual Pride celebration. Activists were successful in lobbying for the Rainbow Crosswalks to remain as a permanent fixture, celebrating the area’s long-running history as part of the LGBTQ+ community.
